Teens & Adults Fencing Classes (Tu&Th)

Service Description

If you are looking for a fun way to exercise, fencing is for you! You should know that fencing is not just for kids! :) This class is a great opportunity for teenagers, adults and older folks who are interested in learning the exciting sport of fencing. Fencing is a great physical and mental activity for body and soul! This class is designed to introduce and teach athletes to basics of fencing: definitions and terms, moves, positions, rules, target work and some sparing. The class will progress to the next level as group members progress in their skills, abilities and knowledge. Adult fencing classes will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00-8:00 PM. There are different options for you to choose from based on the number of classes you wish to attend. One class is $35. 4 classes is $120. The most cost effective that will also encourage consistent attendance is the unlimited plan: With the unlimited plan you register for and attend 2 days per week for the intro classes. There are 8 classes per month. Cost: $170. About Fencing: The modern Olympic sport requires fencers to be of the fittest of athletes and have levels of skills, which require many hours of dedicated training. In learning the skills of attacking and defending with the fencing weapon (foil in our case) fencers develop good coordination, balance and flexibility which makes fencing training an ideal means of keeping fit for all ages, sexes, and abilities. For the class: - Must bring personal water bottle - Must wear athletic attire: t-shirt, long pants, athletic shoes. NOTE: dresses, skirts, flip-flops, sandals, boots, heels or jeans to the class ARE NOT ALLOWED in the class. - For long hair, please secure with hair tight/accessories to keep face and eyes open - Stay home if feel sick Registration and Make-up class policy: - Must register online and pay the invoice before coming to the class. - Fencers are expected to attend on the days registered. If must miss a class for some reason, please contact the coach directly. - No refunds will be issued. Fencing equipment: Fencing equipment is available to borrow in limited quantity and sizes. New students may borrow equipment to try fencing and get an idea of what it feels like. That will allow to try the sport before committing and spending money on equipment. After the trial period, fencers are expected to purchase their own set of equipment.

Cancellation Policy

Registration and payment policy: - Please complete the registration online. - All students in this program will be enrolled in auto-pay. You may be canceled at any time when following the cancellation policy. - All payments will be scheduled to be processed on the 25th of each month. - No refunds. Cancellation policy: - You must request to cancel your auto-pay on or before the 15th of a month to avoid being billed for the next month session. Make-up class policy: - For the intermediate or intermediate+ plans: * A fencer is expected to attend the days selected. * If you need to make up for a missed class, you will be able to make up a class if space is available on different days. Please contact the coach to schedule your makeup. - For the Unlimited plan: * There will be no make-up. Fencing equipment: All new fencers get a trial period and will be provided with fencing gear free of charge for the first two months. After the trial period, fencers have 2 options: 1) Rent equipment at $35/per month 2) Buy personal gear.
